Nonviolent civil disobedience is one more skill that we as activists need to have in our tool bag along with facilitating meetings, lobbying, advocacy, planning a demonstration and others.
This nonviolent civil disobedient (nvcd) workshop will introduce you to this skill. You will learn how (1) to prepare for possible arrest (2) to develop strategies for being effective in civil disobedient actions (3) to maintain solidarity once arrested.
Participating in this training is educational and does not mean that you will definitely participate in any civil disobedient action.
ACT (Active Community Training) will be offering this training. The trainers are Penn Garvin, Sam Pearson, and Harvey Partica. Penn is a long-time nvcd trainer and the three of them participated in a training by the Poor People's Campaign who are providing trainings across the country for those who plan to participate in their actions.
Please come and check it out! Call Penn 570-716-9828 to sign up and to get further information about the day.
